Sofia’s Sanctuary was established in January 2011 to provide a community of support & inspiration for busy people to manage stress through self-care. Whether your stress is a result of past trauma, present daily responsibilities, or major changes in your life, this is the site for you. My purpose is to share personal and professional self-care and stress management strategies designed to prevent burn-out* by promoting health & wellness.

I became a therapist to help others heal through practices of healthy living. I believe we have the power to create new meaningful lives through the choices we make each and every day. These choices can include how we interpret a situation, what we do in response to it, and what decisions we make to move us forward on our life paths. I believe we have the power to heal from any painful experience, but we can’t do it alone or in isolation. We need healthy others in our lives, and we need to feel that we belong to a community of people who share similar experiences. We become healthy by building meaningful connections with others, one day at a time.

In my therapy practice I teach clients the strategies and perspectives I share here and on my Facebook page, Sofia’s Sanctuary. In real life I practice what I teach. My hope is that you will find this a safe place to share your own experiences with managing the daily stress of life. Please feel free to provide feedback regarding what is posted here.
